Allen Nelson serves as Director of Capital Project Development. He brings 30 years of experience in the global petrochemical industry. Prior to joining TetraVitae he served as a senior process design engineer for the chemical division of BP. Most of his experience was with BP’s aromatic acid technology for the production of purified terephthalic acid (PTA), purified isophthalic acid (PIA), and trimellitic anhydride (TMA). He led the process design efforts for a large number of projects throughout the world, including new production units and also major retrofits to existing units. Allen earned a BA in Chemistry from Occidental College, an MS in Physical Chemistry from Indiana University, and an MS in Chemical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology.
